Katy B lughts ons featuring ms. Dynamite

The video is slightly performance/concept/narrative based as there is not real storyline however it shows that she''keeps on moving with the lights on'' there are also shots of them performing the song.

The music video is another Dubstep song therefore it has should have the same characteristics. It uses a lot of bright flashing lights, it represents a club/underground scene with a lot of dancing.

The relationship between the lyrics and visuals ia quite strong as the song is about dancing with the lights on and that is exactly what is happening in the video. The main singer also acts out some of the lyrics she says.

Like most videos the relationship between the music and visuals is very noticeable as the beat of the music changes so does the shot, its the same with the pace the faster parts of the song are represented with faster moving images. As singer changes the visuals change as well which is very noticeable, in parts where the crossover between singers lines are fast the images changes faster.

A lot of the shots are close up shots of the singers faces, there is a lot of focus on what they are singing about as shots usually start as a long shot and zoom into a close up or the other way round. When the shots are close up it seems a lot more personal and makes you focus on what they are singer rather than doing. Long shots are also used to show off the dancing in the background because the dancers have real relevance to the point being made in the song.

Notion of looking is used a lot in the video mainly by the two singers in the long shots looking or pointy at the other so you attention goes to the one singing at that time. They also put some of the notion on the dancers in the background. A lot of the main focus again goes onto the lights as they are the main point of the song.

Laura Mulvey theory of the 'male gaze' does not seem to apply to this video as although it is all women in the video, to me they are not being portrayed as sex symbols, to me it represents them having fun.
